Type
4 Cylinder:
Utilizes a non-metallic liner which incorporates a Bonded/Fused
metallic boss. The benefits associated with Plastic liners Include:
* Potential for Longer Service Life
* No Corrosion Potential
D.O.T. currently does not allow the use of Type 4 cylinders
for Breathing Air applications. Although Europe and others
do.
Drawbacks would include Temperature limitations associated
with the non-metallic liner material utilized.
