Type
2 Cylinder:
Utilizes
a Hoop Wrap of Reinforced Filament which allows for a strong, durable
yet inexpensive cylinder, typically with a Steel Liner.
Type
2 Cylinders are the next step above Type 1 cylinders, in terms of weight
performance. They are designed to withstand 125% of a cylinder's designed
Service Pressure. The liner is then wrapped with a HOOP Wrap pattern
over it's cylindrical section, to allow the unit to withstand a minimum
of 225% of Service Pressure, without rupturing. SCI has designed and
fielded thousands of Type 2 cylinders.
